Is Mirth Connect free?
Yes or, at least, it was.
Mirth Connect was an open source tool that could be downloaded and used for free only up to version 4.5. We keep an updated Mirth Connect download page where you can find all the open-source versions of Mirth Connect.
The source code of open-source versions of Mirth Connect is available on GitHub.
From version 4.6 onward, Mirth Connect became closed-source and uses a proprietary license, so it can be only acquired by pourchasing a license from NextGen Healthcare. You can learn about it in our article about the change of Mirth Connect License.
What are the default user and password for Mirth Connect?
The initial values for the username and password of Mirth Connect can be set during installation. In the case that we don’t do that, the default values for the username and password of Mirth Connect are:
- Username: `admin`
- Password: `admin`
We highly recommend changing them to secure values to prevent unauthorized access to you Mirth Connect instance. Remember to use an user name and a password according to your organization information security policies.
